Marvel Studios is set to open up its 2022 theatrical run with Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , which will debut worldwide on May 6, 2022. With Raimi leading the way alongside behind-the-scenes stars like writer Michael Waldron and composer Danny Elfman, this sequel looks to effectively change the MCU in a big way upon its release. With the movie still about four months away, the Marvel team has plenty of work to do to make sure Doctor Strange 2 lives up to its potential. Thankfully, the first trailer already has hype growing substantially with looks at more Scarlet Witch magic and potentially as many as three Doctor Strange Variants coming into play. Out of all the Marvel Studios’ projects of last year, there’s no doubt that Spider-Man: No Way Home was the biggest. Not only was it one of fans’ most anticipated, but it quickly became one of the most successful movies of all time. With Tom Holland’s Spidey threequel not only bringing back Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, but also Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, it's no surprise it is a hit. The project was long-rumored to play off of the franchise’s long legacy, and it did so with grace. None of the nostalgic returning actors or callbacks got in the way of the plot or emotional strength of the movie. ADVERTISEMENT Audiences only want to see more.
