Outside of the MCU, Sony Pictures is looking to expand mightily with its cache of Spider-Man-centric movies. One of the most successful in this endeavor was 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse , the adventure starring Miles Morales that became one of the best animated films ever made. Now, all eyes are looking forward to the long-awaited sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse . The first trailer for this sequel premiered in December 2021 as fans got a look into how Miles would reunite with Hailee Steinfeld's Gwen Stacy and explore the Multiverse more fully. One of the more unexpected projects that is due to come from Marvel Studios’ Disney+ offerings is a project based on the supernatural  Werewolf by Night . The character is an obscure one and also comes with several iterations throughout the years. This started with the original in Jacob Russell in 1795, who was bitten by a werewolf in Dracula’s service.  His son, Gregory, went on to inherit the curse in the 1950s thanks to the Darkhold—an object of power that will be seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness . A more recent take on the character saw a 17-year old Hopi American named Jake become the titular werewolf when the Life Foundation started experiments on their reservation. Marvel Studios concluded its biggest year of content releases in franchise history with Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye , the last of five MCU Disney+ shows to premiere in 2021. With Disney having expanded the Marvel narrative in more ways than ever before through magic, mystical martial arts, and the Multiverse, Clint Barton's first solo project came as a change of pace by focusing on the Avengers' most grounded team member. Now that Marvel has broken ground in Disney+ storytelling, the studio has a golden opportunity to give fans a deep look inside each MCU project from Phase 4 and show off how everything came to life on the big and small screens. While fans are still reeling from the events of  Spider-Man: No Way Home , Sony Pictures is already prepping the next addition to their wall-crawling portfolio.  Morbius  is set add to the studio's ventures into solo films based upon Peter Parker's rogues' gallery. The movie stars Jared Leto as Michael Morbius, a biochemist who tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease while simultaneously infecting himself with a form of vampirism.  The blood-sucking blockbuster has been in a state of flux for the better part of two years as Sony has shuffled its release date with the ebbs and flows of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.  Morbius  has not been the only film to have been hit hard by the events of the last few years, but it might be the one that has had to move its date (at least publicly) the most often.
