Marvel Studios is taking some major steps forward in expanded storytelling, which especially came through at the end of 2021 in theaters and on Disney+. The MCU's last movie of the year, Spider-Man: No Way Home , officially gave Charlie Cox his first theatrical role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Meanwhile, his co-star, Vincent D'Onofrio, got to reprise his role as Kingpin, the main antagonist in the Hawkeye series. After countless weeks of teases and hints toward his return, D'Onofrio's full arrival in Hawkeye sent shockwaves through the MCU fandom. Now that he's back in action, regardless of his "living situation," the actor is openly teasing where he could bring the massive villain back into play in future outings. ADVERTISEMENT One hero D'Onofrio has mentioned multiple times while discussing his future is Spider-Man, particularly considering the hero's new life starting after No Way Home . Daredevil Star Says Toxic Marvel Fans Are No Longer a Problem

Vincent D'Onofrio has been anything but quiet since he showed up as Kingpin last year's  Hawkeye . The Marvel veteran returned to the role of Wilson Fisk after seemingly having to leave the character behind when Netflix's  Daredevil  was canceled back in 2018. D'Onofrio has made it known that he loves playing Marvel king of crime, and fans seem to share the sentiment.  The actor reprised his  Daredevil  role in the same month that his Netflix costar Charlie Cox made his return as Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil) in  Spider-Man: No Way Home . While the question about to what this means regarding the canonicity of these Netflix characters in the greater MCU is still a hot topic, audiences have held out that these two were perfectly cast for their roles.  ADVERTISEMENT Now, these two actors may be new to some MCU fans, but they carry the benefit of years of experience dealing with the ups and the downs of working within a fandom.  Vincent D...

Kingpin Actor Reveals How Much Weight He Gained for Hawkeye

Image
Marvel Studios' Hawkeye finished off the MCU's biggest year of content in history, and just the way other projects have done all year, the show ended with a bang. That bang came mostly courtesy of Vincent D'Onofrio, who reprised his role as Wilson Fisk, aka the Kingpin of Crime, in a Disney+ series after first playing the role in Netflix's Daredevil for three years. Throughout his run in Marvel Comics and his live-action stories, Kingpin has been known as one of the most physically dominant villains in franchise history, even outside of his natural height and weight. Combine that with a ruthless nature and elite fighting skills, as well as D'Onofrio's intimidating persona on the screen, and Marvel fans have an antagonist that truly scares anybody he towers over. ADVERTISEMENT Upon the conclusion of his first Marvel Studios production, D'Onofrio has had the chance to share developments about how he's approaching the chara...

Kingpin Actor Reacts to Fan Backlash Against Hawkeye Scenes

To finish off its 2021 slate of projects, Marvel Studios ended the year with the conclusion of Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye series on Disney+, and it came with some huge reveals in Episode 6. Much of this centered around the long-awaited debut of Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, who is now officially MCU canon after the actor reprised the role he made so popular in Netflix's Daredevil from 2015 to 2018. D'Onofrio spent the entire season subtly-but-not-so-subtly teasing that his Wilson Fisk was the man behind all the mayhem, which came as early as Episode 3 with Maya Lopez's mysterious uncle from the flashback sequence. Episode 5 fully revealed that the Kingpin existed in the MCU thanks to a grainy cell phone picture alongside Eleanor Bishop, and with that, the game officially changed. ADVERTISEMENT In D'Onofrio's one episode where he got to shine as Kingpin, one aspect of his character that brought mixed reactions from fans was t...
