Chris Evans'  Captain America: The Winter Soldier  was one of the biggest departures for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the time. Not only was the genre, a 70s-esque political thriller, completely new, but the Russo Brother’s first MCU project also featured the evolution of action scenes for Marvel Studios. At the time, many audiences claimed them to be the best the company had put forth yet. The biggest improvement was how hard-hitting the action was. Moon Knight  was cruising along on Disney+ in an archaeological fashion during the first three episodes and most of the fourth. Oscar Isaac's Marc Spector and Steven Grant put their respective skills to use alongside May Calamawy's Layla El-Faouly in an attempt to reach Ammit's tomb before Ethan Hawke's Arthur Harrow. However, after Harrow shockingly shot Marc at the end of the episode, everything changed. Viewers were transported to an asylum where all of the patients and employees were people that had been seen out in public at some point during the first three episodes. Marvel Studios' Moon Knight continues to give a fresh look into ancient Egyptian mythology while also providing a sense of authenticity regarding the cultural aspects of its expansive story. Through Oscar Isaac's Marc Spector and May Calamawy's Layla, this Marvel series has shared a fresh look into a place the MCU had never explored before while developing these brand-new heroes. Moon Knight delivered an in-depth look at the lore of the Egyptian gods of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the third episode giving viewers an understanding of the Ennead, their backstory, and why they chose to abandon humans. During the installment, five avatars of the gods were featured, namely  Horus, Isis, Tefnut, Osiris, and Hathor.  The Ennead was involved in several significant moments in Episode 3. First, the gods were summoned by Khonshu for Arthur Harrow's trial, ultimately leading to an unfortunate end on the Moon god's part as his fellow deities didn't believe his accusation. The group then resurfaces at the episode's ending, with them imprisoning Khonshu in stone due to him turning back the night sky.  ADVERTISEMENT Originally, the Ennead is composed of nine Egyptian gods, but Moon Knight only showed five of them (six, if Khonshu was not banished). Marvel Studios is officially at the halfway mark of Moon Knight , with three episodes telling the story of Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Marvel's take on ancient Egyptian mythology. More so than any series in the MCU's history, Moon Knight has the opportunity to take a deep look into different characters and locales through the story that's already been told. Thanks to Marc Spector's experience with Dissociative Identity Disorder, fans have spent ample time with one of the character's alternate personalities in Steven Grant, an everyday man who worked at a gift shop. The first two episodes saw him learn about the other side of him in Marc along with Marc's ties to the Moon God Khonshu, taking him 3,500 miles from his life in London to the deserts of Cairo, Egypt. Marvel Studios has enjoyed its return to the spotlight in recent weeks, particularly when it comes to some of the darker properties that now reside on Disney+. Mid-March saw the shows that were originally housed on Netflix, including Daredevil and Jessica Jones , make their way onto the streaming service. And all this happened shortly before Marvel's  Moon Knight made its long-awaited streaming debut. Moon Knight is already seeing plenty of success after its first two episodes, with the show fully exploring some serious mental health issues while delivering epic action throughout. Giving fans two all-new characters from Oscar Isaac in Steven Grant and Marc Spector, on top of Ethan Hawke's villainous Arthur Harrow, the series is off to a fantastic start. It should be common knowledge to most by now that Christian Bale joined the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder as its villain, Gorr the God Butcher. Now, with Gorr as the main villain, it's unlikely for audiences to only see him fighting Thor and the other Asgardian survivors without witnessing his path of carnage against other gods. Gods which Marvel Studios is seemingly introducing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe at a rapid pace, almost as if to purposefully serve them up on a silver platter for the alien butcher. This March has seen the greatest push for an adult MCU yet as the Netflix series - including Daredevil , The Punisher , and more - made the jump to Disney+. As the month comes to an end, Disney+ will premiere  Moon Knight  starring Oscar Issac, which despite being described as PG-13, looks to be showing signs of being more mature than anything Marvel Studios has released to date. Moon Knight  has long been described as the MCU's most mature, violent, and dark outing yet.
