In recent years, Marvel has proactively taken bigger steps to adapt its various IPs into quality blockbuster level games; not just the lackluster mobile games they've been known for. Some of these projects blossom into critical hits like Insomniac Games'  Spider-Man , while others devolve into disappointing messes like Square Enix's  Avengers.  Another one of its recent games, and one of the best from a critical standpoint, is  Guardians of the Galaxy . While the Multiverse is a concept about which Doctor Strange and the audience still know frighteningly little, fans would be completely in the dark about this Phase 4 focus if it wasn't for Loki on Disney+. The Tom Hiddleston-led Marvel series not only focused on the God of Mischief as he confronted himself and the Time Variance Authority (TVA), but also educated audiences on timelines, Variants, a Multiversal War, and He Who Remains.  In the final episode of the show's first season, Sylvie - a female Loki Variant and Loki's love interest - kills He Who Remains, seemingly freeing the Multiverse and its branching timelines. Ever since Spider-Man swung into theaters in 2002, there has seldom been much of a break between wall-crawler solo films. After the grand success of Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire's first two solo films, Sony was eager to up the ante for the third entry by bringing three villains into the mix, creating an overcrowding problem that plagued the movie. Spider-Man: No Way Home served as the culmination of Peter Parker's origin story in the MCU, which is a unique approach since it happened throughout three movies. Tom Holland's Peter Parker made his debut during Captain America: Civil War , with the young hero already suited up as Spider-Man.
