Superheroes and the comics they come from are undeniably perfectly built for blockbuster Hollywood adaptations. Audiences have always loved a classic battle between good and evil, packed with action, thrills, and some romance sprinkled throughout. Last year's  Eternals  may not have been the most well-received Marvel Studios film of all time, but it wasn't without its achievements. The family of Celestial-born beings has now entered the spotlight alongside some of the biggest superhero groups of all time. They might not be as big as The Avengers, or The Guardians of the Galaxy, but they could easily get there. They'll certainly have competition in the coming years, however. Their ensemble isn't yet a match for the big leagues, like those mutants or Fantastic Four—but obscure characters have taken over the stage before, so the group's time could come. Over the past twenty years or so, comic book movies have become one of the hottest commodities in pop culture. While names like the MCU and DCEU have ushered in the most recent era of big-screen superheroes, the genre has slowly been picking up steam for more than 40 years.  Now, some might say that things have only gotten better on the CBM-front as the years pass, but that may not actually be the case.
