Marvel Studios has made two mass project announcements since initially revealing Phase 4 at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. The first came at 2020's Disney Investor Day, and the second followed on 2021's Disney+ Day, but even across those events, details remain vague on one film from the initial Phase 4 reveal:  Blade ​​​​​​. After a decade of playing the MCU's Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. hasn't slowed down following his exit from the Marvel franchise in 2019's Avengers: Endgame . In addition to producing projects like Netflix's Sweet Tooth and Warner Bros.' Perry Mason , the Iron Man actor also starred in 2020's Dolittle and was recently cast in Christopher Nolan's star-studded 2023 film,  Oppenheimer .  Still, the Marvel star hasn't forgotten his past successes. After so many years of countless superhero projects, almost every major creative in Hollywood has taken a dip into the genre. Some may have a better track record than others, but there are plenty of comeback stories like Ryan Reynolds, Michael B. Jordan, and most recently,  Fantastic Four -turned- Moon Knight  writer Jeremy Slater. 20th Century Fox made its second attempt at a Fantastic Four  movie in 2015 with  Chronicle 's Josh Trank in the directing chair and Jeremy Slater penning the script. The widely-panned flick introduced audiences to Miles Teller's Mr. Fantastic, Kara Mara's Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan's Human Torch, and Jamie Bell's Ben Grimm. While Daredevil and the rest of the former Netflix Marvel shows will be debuting on Disney+ on March 16, it isn't a guarantee that Marvel Studios will continue those shows or remain within continuity with the rest of the MCU. Even actor Charlie Cox is doubtful that if Daredevil were to return, it would continue directly after its last season. Ever since Cox made his return as Matthew Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home , the actor has had multiple ideas about the character when he appears again. Marvel's First Family, the Fantastic Four, has a cinematic track record that seems to be less than stellar. The two films from the mid-2000s got many things right but still missed the mark with a large number of fans. And then there was the 2015 outing, starring Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller. Widely viewed as merely a ploy by 20th Century Fox to hold onto the Fantastic Four film rights, the 2015 movie was a certified critical and box office bomb. In 2005's  Fantastic Four  and its 2007 sequel,  Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer , a definite standout among the cast was Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm aka The Thing. Through a thick layer of makeup and a restrictive costume, Chiklis still managed to imbue Ben with the character's trademark humor and humanity that has always been present in his comic book incarnation. Even though  Spider-Man: No Way Home 's box office numbers continue to make headlines, the film's success is no accident. Marvel Studios ' Blade  may still be quite some time away, but the seeds for the blood-sucking blockbuster are being planted now. Marvel's vampire hunter will be portrayed by Mahershala Ali, but other than that, there is not much known about the project at this point. Despite his movie being years out, Ali has actually already made his MCU debut as the character.  As was revealed back in October, Blade was present in the post-credit stinger of  Eternals  where he gave the Ebony Blade to Kit Harington's Dane Whitman, despite not showing his face to the audience.
