Thor 4 Reveals First Look at Christian Bale's Gorr Minions (Photos)

Image
Fans were disappointed to see Cate Blanchett's Hela wielding what appeared to be the Necrosword, the weapon of Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher from the comics, in Thor: Ragnarok . It led fans to believe that Gorr wouldn't make any future appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially after his most iconic exchange with Thor was used with Hela instead. However, the tiniest hope fans had was Hela's minions being changed from Gorr's Black Berserkers in the comics into undead Asgardian warriors. Perhaps Marvel Studios had more plans that involved the vengeful alien and his spawns in the MCU. ADVERTISEMENT Years later, fans were elated thanks to the reveal of Gorr the God Butcher as the villain for Thor: Love and Thunder . On top of that, the newest teaser trailer for the Ragnarok sequel seemingly shows Gorr's enforcers from the comics attacking New Asgard. Gorr's Minions Attacking New Asgard In the last few seco...

New Thor 4 Plot Synopsis Teases Christian Bale’s Villainous Role

Image
After much anticipation, the teaser for Chris Hemsworth’s Thor: Love and Thunder is finally here. The footage showed off Thor in his new duds, the Guardians back in action, Jane Foster’s Thor, and King Valkyrie. There was one big missing element, however: Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. The big bad of the movie was nowhere to be found, nor any antagonist at all. Some of his handiwork may have made it in, but the Necrosword-wielding foe didn’t even lend as much as a line of dialogue to the trailer. The only proper look that the fans have gotten of the villain to this day comes from some older set photos and newer glimpses of Love and Thunder  merchandise. ADVERTISEMENT While the teaser trailer may not have had any new Gorr content, at least the official synopsis of the project itself does. In this case, it's teased that the villain's motives will be fairly aligned with what they are in the source material.  Thor 4 Villain Teased in New Sy...

Thor 4 Leak Reveals Best Look Yet at Christian Bale's Villain (Photo)

With Benedict Cumberbatch's  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  just around the corner, it's easy to forget that there's another big Marvel Studios blockbuster right after it:  Thor: Love & Thunder . After all, there hasn't even been a trailer yet, so general audiences might not even know it exists. But, it does, and with it, not only will it bring a new Thor to the table in Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, but also a terrifying new villain in Gorr the God Butcher, portrayed by Academy Award winner Christian Bale. In the comics, Gorr is an alien with a personal vendetta against Gods, claiming them to be useless, and accusing them of never actually listening to, or caring about, those who pray to them. Armed with a sword with connections to the Venom symbiote, the God Butcher lives up to his name, crossing names off his hit list. Marvel makes its long-awaited return to the cosmic this July with Thor: Love and Thunder . Chris Hemsworth's fourth  Thor  film and ninth appearance as the God of Thunder will bring back popular supporting players like Tessa Thompson's newly crowned Valkyrie and Taika Waititi's Korg, but will also introduce plenty of rookies. At the top of that class is Gorr the God Butcher, portrayed by Academy Award-winner Christian Bale. Compared to Bale's previous comic book movie role, Gorr is a significantly more obscure character. On the page, Gorr is native to an unnamed planet that is less than kind to its inhabitants. Despite being taught to place his faith in the gods, everyone Gorr cared for was killed by his home's unforgiving environment. The unanswered prayers left Gorr bitter towards these higher powers, and alas, the  "God Butcher"  was born. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might be next up in the Marvel Studios slate, but it’s what’s next that has some people more excited: Thor: Love and Thunder . Starring Chris Hemsworth, the film brings back Ragnarok ’s fan-favorite director Taika Waititi for another insane ride with the God of Thunder. This time around, however, the original Avenger is in for a twist: his former love, Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, is set to return in a big way. Jane was last properly seen in Thor: The Dark World , but since then, the character’s fate has been a mystery. That's all set to change when the scientist returns in Love and Thunder , even finding herself worthy of picking up Mjolnir as well. ADVERTISEMENT Recent promotional material has shown her new transformation, with Portman’s Foster sporting comic-accurate attire and holding the famous hammer––this time, sporting some visual cracks. But how big of a role will she play ...
