The MCU is inching closer to its long-awaited return with its latest project, Moon Knight , whose first episode will arrive before the end of March. Featuring Oscar Isaac in the leading role and Egyptian native Mohamed Diab as its director, this limited series will bring the MCU's first new hero of the year in a wild globe-spanning adventure Throughout its marketing campaign, Marvel and the team behind Moon Knight have teased the series as a largely standalone project in relation to its other MCU counterparts. Although there are rumors pointing to a potential appearance by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk, this show won't necessarily rely on connections to the larger story to expand its own narrative. Marvel Studios' second film of 2021,  Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings , was a definite hit with fans and critics, not to mention the box office. The movie raked in a highly respectable amount considering it dropped in the middle of a pandemic. Featuring a mostly-Asian cast,  Shang-Chi  delivered memorable character work and top-notch martial arts sequences. Based on the film's success, a sequel has been confirmed to be in development with star Simu Liu set to return to the title role of Shang-Chi, or as he's also called in-universe, Shaun.
