Veteran filmmaker James Gunn is doing double duty on the superhero side of things, with him working for both Marvel and DC. Gunn is spearheading John Cena's Peacemaker on HBO Max, a spin-off from  The Suicide Squad , as its executive producer, director, and writer, while he is busy filming scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3  under the Marvel Studios banner.  At this stage, exact plot details of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are still being kept under wraps, but Gunn already confirmed that it will be the last time that fans will see this current iteration of the team. Spider-Man: No Way Home is a cinematic marvel. In addition to its box office domination, the fact that two studios connected three different franchises spanning two decades in a single film is as difficult to absorb as seeing cinema's three Spider-Men together on the big screen. Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye has been one of the best received MCU Disney+ series to date; the perfect way to close out the year. Audiences got to meet newcomer Hailee Steinfeld’s self-proclaimed “world’s greatest archer” in Kate Bishop as she stumbled into Clint Barton’s messy Ronin legacy. The Ronin's reputation caused them to be hunted by the Tracksuit Mafia led by Alaqua Cox’s Echo, who was seeking revenge for the death of her father. Things got dialed up to eleven when the two were ambushed by a Black Widow assassin—who turned out to be none other than Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova. The character was last seen in Black Widow after being assigned a hit on Clint Barton. Pugh always gives a performance that audiences love, and it was no different this time around. While Marvel Studios' Phase 4 doesn't have an announced Avengers film to build to, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and company are planting the seeds for plenty of big picture narratives. Both  The Falcon and the Winter Soldier  and  Black Widow  included the presence of the mysterious Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, who appears to be assembling an Earth's Mightiest Heroes roster of her own.  WandaVision ,  Loki , and  Spider-Man: No Way Home  toyed with Multiversal concepts, and while each yielded vastly different consequences, all of those roads are leading to  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
