Chandor. The exact plot details of  Kraven the Hunter  are still being kept under wraps, leading many to speculate if Spider-Man will appear in the movie. While fans wait for more concrete details, filming has been underway in London.  ADVERTISEMENT Now, a new cast member has been reported to have joined the Spider-Man spinoff film's stellar ensemble.  Levi Miller Joins Spider-Man Spinoff Film Marvel Deadline shared that Levi Miller has joined the cast of Sony Pictures'  Kraven the Hunter  ...

Disney+ Iron Man Spinoff, Ironheart, Casts Harper Anthony

Image
Marvel Studios has been introducing a lot of new characters to the audiences over the last year. This includes the likes of Monica Rambeau to Kate Bishop and now Moon Knight's many personalities. The trend is set to keep going with another big character set to make their grand entrance later this year in  Black Panther: Wakanda Forever : Riri Williams. The character is played by Dominique Thorne and will show up on the movie side of the MCU before debuting in her own Disney+ series. Riri first showed up in the comics back in 2016, where her genius level of intelligence led to her building her own Iron Man armor in the wake of Tony Stark going into a coma. So, naturally, she starts fighting crime in his stead—Riri even gets a Stark-based AI system in her suit. ADVERTISEMENT Details on her first appearance in the  Black Panther  sequel are sparse. At the least, it has been rumored that she will be suiting up at some point in the film. One would have to...

Bella Thorne Reacts to Deadpool 3 Fan Casts

Image
Although the MCU's immediate future is more than promising, the franchise's later movies are also moving further along in the development process. Included in that mix is Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool 3 , the MCU's first confirmed R-Rated project centered around the fan-favorite Merc with a Mouth. The new Deadpool movie recently found its director in Free Guy 's Shawn Levy, hopefully indicating more confirmed information will be on the way soon. One of the biggest questions surrounding the movie is the cast that will surround Reynolds, as Deadpool now finds himself in the same universe as Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz expressed an interest in returning to her role as Domino, while Dopinder actor Karan Soni wasn't as sure if he would be back for Round 3 with Pool-boy. ADVERTISEMENT Thanks to Deadpool's fourth-wall-breaking nature and the comedy sure to come in his third solo movie, fans are already wonde...

Marvel Casts Graham Greene In Hawkeye Spin-off Echo (Exclusive)

Image
Starring Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, Marvel Studios announced Echo for Disney's streaming service during 2021's Disney+ Day ahead of the character's debut in Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld's Hawkeye . In the comics, and now in MCU canon, Maya Lopez is a street-level Marvel character with a Native American heritage and ties to Kingpin. She also happens to be a deaf amputee. In Hawkeye , Maya showcased her ability to mimic physical fighting styles; she was also last seen with a gun pointed at Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, followed by the sound of a gunshot.  ADVERTISEMENT Whether she will appear in another MCU project ahead of her own, and what Marvel has planned for her solo story remains to be seen. However, who will be appearing alongside Maya in her upcoming series is just now coming to light. Graham Greene Joins the Cast of Marvel's Echo Antlers The Direct can exclusively report that veteran actor Graham Greene, known f...

Spider-Man's Kraven Spin-off Movie Casts West Side Story Actress

Image
Sony is coming out of 2021 on a massive high note thanks to how successful its latest Spider-Man film has been.  No Way Home  completely smashed records, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and became one of the biggest movies of all time. Not only that, but it has continued to outdo  Avengers: Endgame , this time with digital pre-orders (per Vudu). Given all of that, the studio's efforts with its own connected cinematic universe have seen far more movement in the wake.  Venom  has a third film in development,  Madame Web  finally got a leading actress in the form of Dakota Johnson, and  Morbius  might actually come out. ADVERTISEMENT One of Sony's biggest, however, is  Kraven the Hunter . The project will follow one of Spider-Man's biggest villains, likely showcasing an origin story of some sort—though, next to no official details are known. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is cast as the titular character, while Fred Hechinger recently came aboard ...

Andrew Garfield Casts Doubt on His Spider-Man Future

Image
Spider-Man: No Way Home remains one of the biggest feats in movie history well into 2022, thanks in no small part to the trio of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire as their respective web-slingers. The Marvel Studios threequel has more than enough moments to keep fans talking for a long time, which is exactly what's happening more than two months after its release. Andrew Garfield had a particularly interesting go of things with the Spidey threequel, especially considering he couldn't say one word about his inclusion before it came to fruition. ADVERTISEMENT He worked as hard as he could to stop people from thinking he was reprising his Peter Parker, debunking rumors and leaks seemingly non-stop for the better part of six months. Garfield lied to his old co-stars and the public alike to make sure his reprisal had the properly massive impact it was supposed to, and he delivered a performance for the ages in the end. Now that No Way ...

Marvel Casts Lyric Ross In Iron Man Disney+ Spin-off, Ironheart

Image
Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man continues to have a legacy in the MCU more than two years after his on-screen death, which is largely coming to life on Disney+. Two unique shows, Armor Wars and Ironheart , will play the biggest roles in paying tribute to Downey's time as the OG MCU hero. Ironheart will be an exciting one in particular, with Riri Williams becoming the MCU's next young hero to play a key role in the narrative. Reportedly starting filming this April, Thorne's solo series is already rumored to tie back to the past 14 years of MCU history while also setting her own Riri Williams up for a solo run on-screen. From potentially fighting descendants of Tony Stark's original villain to following up on Riri's introduction in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever , fans are in for a unique trip through MCU lore. ADVERTISEMENT Thorne recently gained a co-star in Anthony Ramos, who's said to be a major part of the MCU's future e...

Disney+ Casts Doubt on Marvel Netflix Shows' Worldwide Release Next Month

Image
Marvel's Netflix shows introduced a plethora of incredible characters such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Punisher, while also expanding the franchise into the realm of television. While the projects reference major events from the MCU such as the Battle of New York in 2012's The Avengers , it is still unknown if the shows are canon to the big-screen franchise, especially considering the fact that they are produced under Marvel Television. Despite that, the Defenders franchise still earned a generally positive reception from fans and critics due to its stellar storytelling and impressive performances from the cast. As a result, most of the shows enjoyed a run of at least two seasons, but disappointing follow-up installments and the development of Disney+ ultimately led to their cancellation.  ADVERTISEMENT After the shows were canceled, many fans speculated that the characters would make their jump to the MCU, specifically on the Di...

Marvel Casts Oscar-Winning Actor as Moon Knight Voice

Image
Moon Knight  is set to explore a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by introducing a more brutal superhero alongside interesting Egyptian mythology. The titular antihero is portrayed by Oscar Isaac ( Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ), with the actor playing different personalities due to the character's dissociative identity disorder. Aside from a mild-mannered Steven Grant, Isaac will also play the likes of Marc Spector, who is a former mercenary, and Mr. Knight, the hero's detective persona.  In the series, Isaac's Marvel hero will be pitted against Ethan Hawke's Arthur Harrow, a mysterious scientist who has sinister plans. So far, the two actors are front and center in promotional footage, which makes sense since they are the prominent figures in the series.  ADVERTISEMENT Despite that, there are other actors who have either been rumored or reported to join Moon Knight . May Calamawy ( Ramy) is reportedly playing a key ch...

Tom Holland Casts More Doubt on His Spider-Man Future

Image
Tom Holland's  Spider-Man: No Way Home  brought plenty of status quo changes upon its release. The Multiverse is real, Matt Murdock is back in action, Marisa Tomei's Aunt May is dead, and somehow, more importantly, everyone in the universe has forgotten Peter Parker exists. Spider-Man is lonelier than lonely, which won't be easy going forward. But what is next? The story attempts to leave the character in somewhat of a hopeful place despite his grim circumstances. He's started a new life, and that simplified existence, for better or worse, is going to allow Peter to focus completely on his duties as New York City's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. ADVERTISEMENT Oddly enough, despite there clearly being more stories to tell about Holland's Peter Parker, nothing is set in stone yet—besides Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige himself confirming that a fourth entry in the franchise is in development. But apparently, according to Hol...

Marvel Casts Irina Kara In Disney+‘s Secret Invasion

Image
This year is set to bring another stellar line-up of Marvel Studios Disney+ shows. First, there’s Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight , whose first trailer blew audiences away, leading to the video getting a notable amount of likes on YouTube. Then will come She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel , both of whom don’t have a release date just yet but are at least confirmed for 2022. After that, what comes next is unclear. This includes the debut of Samuel L. Jackson’s first outing on the streaming service: Secret Invasion . The story is set to be a loose adaptation of the famous comic storyline of the same name, as Skrulls secretly infiltrate the Earth from the inside. Returning to their roles are not only Jackson’s Fury but also Cobie Smulders’s Maria Hill and Ben Mendelson’s Talos. ADVERTISEMENT Not much is known about the storyline, with Marvel having only teased the sense of paranoia that’ll be at play. The production hasn’t seen many leaks, unlike the recent Spider-Man: No...

Ms. Marvel's Disney+ Series Casts Mehwish Hayat

Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to introduce a new wave of shows on Disney+ in 2022, and one of them is Ms. Marvel .  The upcoming Disney+ series will showcase the debut of Iman Vellani as the titular Marvel hero, and it is directed by Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon. Ms. Marvel  follows the story of Kamala Khan, a teenager who idolizes Captain Marvel and then later receives superpowers to become a hero. The show's official synopsis described Khan as “a great student, avid gamer, and voracious fan-fic scribe,"  seemingly suggesting that the MCU version is not just a fan of Carol Danvers but the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes as well.  ADVERTISEMENT Ms. Marvel features a stellar Pakistani cast, considering that its lead hero is a Pakistani-American. Vellani is joined by the likes of Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Yasmeen Fletcher, Farhan Akhtar, Rish Shah, and Zenobia ...

Hulu Boss Casts Uncertainty on Marvel Future

Image
Marvel Studios certainly has a lot going for the Marvel Cinematic Universe with both classical theatrical releases and the new wave of streaming shows coming to Disney+. Even so, this doesn't count all Marvel-based projects that are out in the world right now, with TV and streaming networks such as ABC, Freeform, and Hulu all boasting their own cache of superhero-centric projects from the past few years. In particular, Hulu is still currently moving forward with a few unique projects not necessarily tied to the MCU, which started with The Runaways in 2017. Along with an under-the-radar run for the horror-centric Helstrom in 2020, the streaming network is currently the home for Season 1 of Patton Oswalt's animated MODOK  series as well as the recently-released first season of Hit-Monkey . ADVERTISEMENT The big question now is where exactly Hulu will go with its own Marvel-centric stories as the MCU keeps moving forward at warp speed with anywher...

Marvel Studios Casts Laura Donnelly as Possible MCU Vampire

Image
Along with the classic MCU action coming to the big screen and Disney+ over the next few years in Phase 4, Marvel Studios is using Disney+ to deliver new and unique content that still ties into the overarching narrative. This includes entries like the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special being filmed alongside the third Guardians solo movie, and there is even a Halloween special in the early stages of development as well. Outside of the Halloween-centric episode of 2021's WandaVision , this will be Marvel Studios' first time tackling a story centered on the spooky holiday as more centralized adventures come into play. There aren't many signs pointing to specifics regarding the plot or its place in the MCU timeline, but reports have hinted that it will be centered around Werewolf By Night, who has ties to Moon Knight in the comics. ADVERTISEMENT In November 2021, Gael Garcia Bernal of Disney's Coco was cast in the Halloween Special a...
