अंतरिक्ष की उड़ान अब सिर्फ रिसर्च तक सीमित नहीं है। यह नई दुनिया का टूरिस्‍ट प्‍लेस बन रही है, जिसके जरिए लोग स्‍पेस का सफर कर रहे हैं। हालांकि अभी यह काफी महंगा टूरिज्‍म है। पिछले महीने हमने स्‍पेसएक्‍स के रॉकेट पर सवार होकर तीन यात्रियों को इंटरनेशनल स्‍पेस स्‍टेशन (ISS) की उड़ान भरते हुए और वहां से सफलतापूर्वक पृथ्‍वी पर लैंड करते हुए देखा था। Axiom Space ने इस मिशन को तैयार किया था और हरेक अंतरिक्ष यात्री को 420 करोड़ रुपये खर्च करने पड़े थे। अरबपति जेफ बेजोस की कंपनी ब्लू ओरिजिन (Blue Origin) भी स्‍पेस फ्लाइट संचालित करती है। कल इसकी पांचवीं ह्यूमन स्‍पेस फ्लाइट प्रस्‍तावित थी, जिसमें अब देरी हो गई है।  जेफ बेजोस (Jeff Bezos) की कंपनी अपने न्यू शेपर्ड सबऑर्बिटल व्‍हीकल के अगले मिशन ‘NS-21' के लॉन्च का लक्ष्य बना रही थी। रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, अब इस प्‍लान को टाल दिया गया है। न्यू शेपर्ड सबऑर्बिटल व्‍हीकल एक रॉकेट है, जिसे ब्‍लू ओरिज‍िन ने बनाया है। न्यू शेपर्ड सबऑर्बिटल व्‍हीकल में एक रॉकेट और एक कैप्सूल होता है। इन दोनों को ही दोबारा इस्‍तेमाल किया जा सकता है।  ब्लू ओरिजिन...

WASHINGTON: NASA is preparing a mission to deliberately smash a spacecraft into an asteroid -- a test run should humanity ever need to stop a giant space rock from wiping out life on Earth. It may sound like science fiction, but the DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) is a real proof-of-concept experiment, blasting off at 10:21 pm Pacific Time Tuesday (0621 GMT Wednesday) aboard a SpaceX rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The goal is to slightly alter the trajectory of Dimorphos, a "moonlet" around 525 feet (160 meters, or two Statues of Liberty) wide that circles a much larger asteroid called Didymos (2,500 feet in diameter). CAPE CANAVERAL: A Nasa spacecraft has officially "touched" the sun, plunging through the unexplored solar atmosphere known as the corona. Scientists announced the news on Tuesday during a meeting of the American Geophysical Union. The Parker Solar Probe actually flew through the corona in April during the spacecraft's eighth close approach to the sun. Scientists said it took a few months to get the data back and then several more months to confirm. "Fascinatingly exciting," said project scientist Nour Raouafi of Johns Hopkins University. Launched in 2018, Parker was 8 million miles (13 million kilometers) from the center of the sun when it first crossed the jagged, uneven boundary between the solar atmosphere and outgoing solar wind.
