Sydney Sweeney Breaks Silence on Marvel Casting

Sony is rapidly looking to expand on its cinematic Spider-Man Universe, particularly after the disappointing reaction to the studio's most recent film, Morbius . She even recently got her first co-star for the movie - Sydney Sweeney. Following her time on the award-winning Euphoria next to Spider-Man: No Way Home 's Zendaya, Sweeney is ready to take on her first role in the world of superhero movies - arguably her biggest role to date. While it's still a mystery who she will play, fans are already expecting the young star to be a big part of Sony's plans for the foreseeable future. ADVERTISEMENT Very little is known at the moment about Madame Web , which only recently made its presence felt on social media for the first time before it starts production. Variety initially reported in early 2020 that Rachel McAdams would not be reprising her role as Christine Palmer in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness . However, several months later, Deadline confirmed that previous reports of McAdams' exclusion were incorrect and that she'd join the  Doctor Strange sequel's cast after all, although it was unknown how significant her role would be. Ahead of the theatrical release of Jared Leto's Morbius , and on the heels of Spider-Man: No Way Home , Sony has announced its next live-action film for its ever-expanding Spider-Verse: Kraven the Hunter . This Spidey villain is one that fans have wanted to see for some time; and for the title role, Sony went with a comic book film veteran in Aaron Taylor-Johnson.  In addition to his role in Kick-Ass , Aaron Taylor-Johnson's last Marvel role was as Wanda Maximoff's brother, Pietro/Quicksilver, in Marvel Studios' Avengers: Age of Ultron . Interestingly enough, Pietro served as a threat to the Avengers for a considerable part of that film. Will his new character of Kraven follow suit in the upcoming film, particularly in terms of Tom Holland's web-slinger? ADVERTISEMENT For now, that remains to be seen. However, Taylor-Johnson did open up about being cast as the comic book baddie to none other than cinema's second-ever, live-action...
