The Fantastic Four has had a rough time during the franchise's tenure in the blockbuster space. While the early 2000s films weren't downright terrible, they weren't amazing for most audiences either. The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to add more heroes and villains into the mix, meaning that more projects are being developed behind the scenes. While the Infinity Saga mainly focused on the big screen, the MCU's Phase 4 is taking it up a notch by expanding onto the small screen, leading to the arrival of Disney+ shows such as WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier .  Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige addressed the so-called overabundance of MCU content, noting that the uniqueness of each Disney+ series prevented such an impression and also saying that he "feels like the audience has responded the way we wanted them to." Shortly after the release of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures'  Spider-Man: No Way Home , Tom Holland made several comments alluding to his time as Peter Parker coming to an end. Holland admitted in an interview that he should maybe move on from the role of Peter Parker so that someone else could play Spider-Man, specifically suggesting the Miles Morales character. Marvel Studios is looking forward to a massive year of content in 2022, which will include the first time any hero has gotten a fourth solo movie with July's Thor: Love and Thunder . Bringing back key recent players like Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie alongside stars of the past such as Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, the sequel looks to take the God of Thunder to new levels of insanity.
