Cosmic Rewind Trailer Shows Groot, Rocket & More

Image
In a few weeks, Marvel fans will have a brand-new way to experience Guardians of the Galaxy ; this time, it's not on the big screen or on Disney+. Set to open at Walt Disney World's EPCOT on May 27, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a new indoor roller coaster featuring Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket, and the rest of the gang; but this time, fans are a part of the adventure.  The story behind  Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind  is that the Celestial Eson is behind  "space and time rewinding." Park guests visiting the theme park's Wonders of Xandar pavilion are then pulled into the fight via a rotating roller coaster which features a reverse launch.  ADVERTISEMENT While Disney has released a 15-second trailer for the attraction and a few other details and reveals, little of the ride experience itself has been revealed. That is, until now.  Rocket & Groot Featured in New Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Tra...

Marvel Reveals New Version of Groot In Upcoming MCU Disney+ Special (Photo)

After Groot sacrificed himself at the end of the first film of the franchise, the Guardian of the Galaxy has gone through multiple transformations over the years. Initially, Groot was a full-sized adult in the 2014 MCU film, but his sacrifice meant that he was essentially reborn at the end of the movie, thus leading to the debut of Baby Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 .  Baby Groot had many memorable moments in Vol. 2 , but it was the only movie that this iteration was ever featured in. Avengers: Infinity War showcased the debut of Teenage Groot, an angsty version of the character who is wholly dedicated to playing video games rather than focusing on missions.   ADVERTISEMENT As the next chapter of the Guardians franchise is poised to take center stage once again, it seems that another iteration of Groot will be highlighted.  Groot Through the Years Groot will have an all-new look in upcoming Guardians projects.  Guardians of the Galaxy Holi...

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Actress Celebrates Wrap With Groot Cake (Photo)

It's hard to believe how in an alternate timeline, fans would have had  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3  nearly two years ago, on May 1, 2020. Thanks to a big Twitter scandal and that not-so-minor pandemic event, the release never happened. Instead, audiences still have an entire year left to go before they can see their favorite group of ragtag cosmic misfits take center stage. While the group will show up in at least a minor capacity for Chris Hemsworth's upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder , that only serves to soften the blow. It'll be great to see them on-screen on any level, but at the end of the day, it won't be their story. ADVERTISEMENT Well, now, it looks like both Vol. 3  and The Holiday Special  are finally reaching the finish line, and getting that much closer to being released to audiences worldwide. But who's the first to make it to the finish line? The lucky contender seems to be none other than Pom Klementieff's Mantis...

Watch: New Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Trailer Released

During a Super Bowl LIV commercial break, Marvel Studios promised that the  "universe [was] expanding."  At the time, that meant canonical streaming series like  WandaVision  and  Loki  coming to Disney+, but since then, the expansion tagline has taken on a whole new meaning. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has debuted animated shows, brought characters from Netflix projects into their blockbusters, and is set to air two live-action Disney+ specials later this year. Among those one-offs is The   Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special , which will be the second time fans see Peter Quill and company in the MCU this year. Before their two in-universe appearances, the Guardians will first show up at Disney World.  ADVERTISEMENT "Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind" will be opening in Orlando, Florida at Walt Disney World's EPCOT. The ride is described as a  "family-friendly adventure"  that features the  " first rever...

New Look at Baby Groot Revealed for Upcoming Disney+ Spin-off

Baby Groot Comes to Disney+ During Disney's Annual Shareholder's Meeting, Marvel Studios revealed a brief new look at Baby Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Groot is primarily in his infant state during 2017's  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 . This particular shot wasn't in any movie featuring the youngest Guardian, making it likely to be promotional material from Disney+'s upcoming  I Am Groot , expected to arrive later in 2022. Vin Diesel Teases His Groot Return In Upcoming Marvel Project

Image
The Guardians of the Galaxy are in for an extended run of prominence over the next couple of years both in theaters and on Disney+, featuring everyone from Chris Pratt's Star-Lord to Vin Diesel's Groot. Diesel, in particular, has a busy schedule for Phase 4, as he will likely have as many as four new credits under his belt as Groot within the next year and a half. Audiences last saw the fan-favorite humanoid plant flying off Earth with the Guardians and Thor on the Benetar after defeating Thanos at the decimated Avengers Compound on Earth in Avengers: Endgame . While Groot's specific journey with the team in Phase 4 is a mystery, there will be no shortage of fun and snarkiness coming from the adolescent alien as he grows further into adulthood. ADVERTISEMENT While Diesel only has variations of one core line to contribute to his MCU role, he will have plenty of work ahead of him to help Groot continue his MCU journey through 2022 and 2023.
