After their pivotal roles in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame , Phase 4 of the MCU has been largely Guardians-less with the exception of their animated roles in Disney+'s  What If...?  Thankfully, that's all about to change. In addition to their anticipated return in Thor: Love and Thunder , the I Am Groot spin-off could debut this summer, while the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is confirmed for later this year. Then, the long-awaited Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - which happens to be filming now - will finally make its theatrical debut on May 5, 2023.  ADVERTISEMENT Even so, neither the big screen nor Disney+ is where audiences can experience the crew's next adventure. Although Ryan Reynolds is still some time away from making his MCU debut, Deadpool 3 is picking up steam in regards to fan anticipation ahead of its release. As only the second confirmed ex-Fox Studios property confirmed to arrive after Jon Watts' Fantastic Four , Wade Wilson's third solo movie is already one that has fans excited about what's coming. Recently, director Shawn Levy officially signed on with Marvel Studios to direct Deadpool's MCU film, reuniting with Reynolds after their success together in 2021's Free Guy . The film still doesn't have an official release date or a timeframe for when production will happen (at least, not a public one), but fans are already picturing how the Merc with a Mouth will make his mark on the franchise. Martin Freeman Returning for Disney+ Secret Invasion Marvel During an on-stage  talk  titled  Samuel L. Jackson In Conversation With Josh Horowitz  on Thursday, March 10 in New York City, actor Samuel L. Jackson let a surprise tidbit slip while discussing the amazing cast of the new Marvel Studios show  Secret Invasion .  After Josh Horowitz, the event's host, listed names such as Oliva Colman and Emilia Clarke cast in the upcoming thriller Marvel series, Jackson jumped in to add Martin Freeman's name to the list. Previously, Freeman had not been confirmed for the Marvel Disney+ series. While Marvel Studios has yet to kick off its 2022 theatrical slate, fans are already getting excited about what will be the studio's final film of the year.  Black Panther: Wakanda Forever  is set to hit theaters on November 11 of this year, despite suffering its share of production hiccups and having to deal with the tragic passing of its leading man in Chadwick Boseman.  After losing Boseman back in Fall 2020 the question of if a  Black Panther  sequel would ever happen started to pop up. Well, director Ryan Coogler and the cast decided it would be best to honor the actor's legacy and carry on.  ADVERTISEMENT Amongst the returning cast is Shuri actress Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o (aka Nakia), M'Baku himself Winston Duke, and Angela Basset as Queen Ramonda.
