Marvel Studios has made two mass project announcements since initially revealing Phase 4 at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to explore the supernatural by introducing new heroes such as Moon Knight, Blade, and Werewolf By Night. The latter will reportedly star in his own Halloween special on Disney+, with the character being portrayed by Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal ( Coco ). So far, information about the upcoming Marvel special has been tightly held under wraps, but notable tidbits have emerged in the past months.  Given that not much is known about Werewolf By Night 's debut, this has led fans to speculate on how the character will be introduced or if there will be other heroes who will join his adventure. Chloé Zhao’s Eternals is now available to stream on Disney+, allowing more people to be introduced to over a dozen new characters joining the MCU. There’s Gemma Chan’s Sersi, Richard Madden’s Ikaris, Harry Styles’ Eros—and so many more. There’s even Arishem, the Celestial, who can be bigger than entire galaxies; it’s pretty heavy stuff. In the second post-credits scene of Eternals , audiences saw Kit Harington's Dane Whitman hesitating to open a box in his office at the Natural History Museum. Upon opening the box, Dane was bombarded by eerie indistinct whispering—the blade within beckoning his touch. But, before Dane could touch it, Blade, played by Mahershala Ali just off-screen, warned him about its potential dangers: "Sure you're ready for that, Mr. Whitman?" Eternals Fans have theorized why Blade would stop Whitman from touching the sword, known as the Ebony Blade in the comics. Whitman used this weapon while acting as the Black Knight, typically on a flying horse. Mahershala Ali's vampire hunter, Eric Brooks aka Blade the Daywalker, has yet to make his big debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans got a small tease of the upcoming Marvel Studios character in the post-credits stinger of 2021's  Eternals , but it was merely Ali's voice offscreen, issuing a warning to Kit Harrington's Dane Whitman. In fact, the MCU's  Blade  film doesn't even have a confirmed release date, but a director has been lined up in Bassam Tariq and filming is reportedly set to kick off in August 2022.   Watchmen  scribe Stacy Osei-Kuffour is also on board as the film's head writer.
