The Falcon and the Winter Soldier  pushed the boundaries of its TV-14 rating for Marvel Studios. The star-spangled series carried the legacy of the Captain America  film franchise through its visceral action, intimate fight sequences, and innovative combat. That innovation was exemplified in the final moments of Episode 4, which featured Wyatt Russell's John Walker using the iconic shield to bludgeon a Flag Smasher. Since the show exists exclusively on Disney+, Marvel Studios has free rein to make retroactive alterations. Marvel Studios is getting ready to dive into slightly more adult content than what it’s been known for in the past, starting various conversations amongst fans as the MCU evolves. As the franchise moves to darker material like the recently released Moon Knight , on top of the recent addition of six Marvel Netflix shows, there are signs pointing to Marvel Studios embracing a more adult nature. It seems inevitable that this will be the case even outside of necessary adult themes in projects like Deadpool 3 , even though the PG-13 rated entries will also move in that direction. As Disney slowly makes these changes to its streaming service, however, fans are worried that this will lead to a more toned-down MCU than fans have seen even in Phase 4 with censorship adjustments. In mid-February, Netflix announced that it would be losing the streaming rights to all of its Marvel shows by the end of the month. This would include its original slate of series, which made up an entire Marvel era in and of themselves.  Daredevil ,  Jessica Jones ,  Luke Cage , and  Iron Fist  will all be finding a new home. The only problem is: nobody knows where that'll be. One of the biggest roadblocks that keep them from making a simple switch over to Disney+ is the content held within. The Netflix shows were always meant to be for a mature audience; it's part of what separated them from the other MCU projects, aside from being television series.
