First with  Venom , and then  Venom: Let There Be Carnage ; this weekend, a new anti-hero joins the family: Morbius . Jared Leto perfectly embodies the lead character, bringing to life an intense, touching, and visually entertaining comic book epic. Audiences will no doubt take to the Living Vampire quickly—don't be surprised if Michael Morbius becomes a household name.  If most of what was read in the above paragraph felt incorrect, well, that's because it was. In fact,  Morbius  is getting destroyed by both critics and fans alike. Nearly every aspect of the film has been criticized, with many claiming the movie belongs in the early 2000s. Marvel Studios has enjoyed unprecedented success on Disney+. From  WandaVision 's Emmy nominations to Loki 's streaming records, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's popularity has only increased with their weekly streaming releases. 2022 looks to replicate those triumphs beginning this Wednesday with the debut of Oscar Isaac's  Moon Knight . The next Disney+ series by Marvel Studios is none other than Moon Knight . The show stars Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant as he starts to experience troublesome events that begin to make him believe he is going insane; which is understandable. Who wouldn’t think the same when one seemingly develops an alternate persona who goes out in a moon-inspired costume to dole out justice for an Egyptian God? The leading character isn’t the only important part of the upcoming project. The show will introduce many other figures and elements to the MCU, and among them is May Calmawy’s mysterious Layla El-Laouly. Little to no information is known about her as of now, besides her knowing Marc Spector and not Steven Grant. While it’s still over a year away, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 remains one of the most anticipated Marvel Studios films. There was a lot to take in for those who watched Spider-Man: No Way Home . For one, villains such as Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin and Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock were back on the screen as if they never left. Headlines were recently made that all the former Netflix Marvel shows would be leaving the Big N permanently and arriving at a new residence, Disney+, on March 16. This includes the likes of Daredevil , Jessica Jones , Luke Cage , Iron Fist , The Defenders , and The Punisher . Needless to say, fans were equally excited and surprised. For one, it’s exciting to have all of these characters under the same streaming umbrella—even if their general MCU canonicity is still up for debate. However, all of them have some pretty mature content in them. Moon Knight is set to take the spotlight in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when it premieres on Disney+ this March. Marvel Studios' second film of 2021,  Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings , was a definite hit with fans and critics, not to mention the box office. The movie raked in a highly respectable amount considering it dropped in the middle of a pandemic. Featuring a mostly-Asian cast,  Shang-Chi  delivered memorable character work and top-notch martial arts sequences. Based on the film's success, a sequel has been confirmed to be in development with star Simu Liu set to return to the title role of Shang-Chi, or as he's also called in-universe, Shaun. Marvel Studios is officially finished with its entire 2021 release slate in theaters and on Disney+, which just concluded with the sixth and final episode of the streaming series Hawkeye . Jeremy Renner's solo series took some bold steps in that last entry, with Clint Barton and Kate Bishop tackling the Tracksuit Mafia while also delivering a full MCU debut for Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin from the Netflix series Daredevil . D'Onofrio had spent most of the few weeks prior to his MCU debut hinting at his imminent arrival through cryptic social media posts and mysterious teases through interviews on the subject.
