Spider-Man: No Way Home  just wrapped up the most successful theatrical run since  Avengers: Endgame , a true testament to just how high excitement was for the threequel. The long-awaited return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, as well as five of their classic villains, sent three generations of Marvel fans flocking to theaters, many multiple times. As the movie finally gets its digital and physical home release,  No Way Home  currently sits at a box office total of $1.89 billion, the sixth-highest in history. Marvel Studios is officially running with its 2022 release schedule, having kicked off with Moon Knight ahead of May’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness . The argument regarding practical and visual effects has been raging for years. Many believe the industry currently over relies on VFX, leading to messy final products like  Black Panther 's last act. They also fear that practical effects are in danger given how easy it is to just go with computer-generated images. Thankfully, there are at least two franchises helping keep the practice alive: Star Wars and  The Guardians of the Galaxy . For Star Wars, the immensely popular T he Mandalorian  has made it a point to use practical effects whenever possible. Nearly all of the different alien species are brought to life with complex makeup applications, rigs, and puppetry. It's a practice that is clearly important for the creatives bringing the world of the series to life—through the show certainly doesn't shy away from creatively using VFX when needed. The future looks like it is going to be anything but boring for Marvel Studios and the MCU. Ever since Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the Marvel toybox expanded ten-fold. Coming with the Fox purchase were all the heroes that the studio owned the film and TV rights to. This list included Wolverine, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four.  Fans have gotten their first tease of these characters coming to the MCU thanks to Patrick Stewart's inclusion in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  and the announcement of Jon Watts' Fantastic Four film. It's a testament to everything Marvel Studios and Sony were able to pull off with the project—and with a good final product, no less. Spider-Man: No Way Home served as the celebration of all things Spider-Man after several returns by different actors from past Marvel films. Directed by Jon Watts, the MCU threequel revolves around the identity crisis of Tom Holland's Peter Parker that eventually led to the Multiverse being unleashed after Doctor Strange's botched spell of trying to fix the titular hero's problem.  As a result, visitors from other universes entered the MCU, specifically from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man franchise. As Marvel Studios looks ahead to its 2022 slate of projects, the team behind the MCU remains on top of its game in the trailer department with the first full look at Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight . Giving fans the first MCU Disney+ series with an all-new hero leading the way, Moon Knight is already making an impact and becoming one of the most anticipated entries of the year. The recently-released first trailer for Moon Knight provided a look at the MCU's take on the psychological thriller as Isaac starts off in his Steven Knight personality, only revealing his true identity as Marc Spector in the closing seconds. Eternals  didn't see the success that Marvel Studios hoped for during its worldwide theater run in late 2021. On top of premiering during a global pandemic, the film was also plagued with mixed reviews from both critics and fans alike, affecting its box office numbers each week. Eternals  is now available to stream on Disney+, which will provide fans with an easy way to revisit it and possibly change their outlook on the movie.
