Moon Knight  finds itself in a spot Marvel Studios has not been in since its inception. Leading man Oscar Isaac has called his solo series the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "first legitimate character-study"  since 2008's  Iron Man . The future looks like it is going to be anything but boring for Marvel Studios and the MCU. Ever since Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the Marvel toybox expanded ten-fold. Coming with the Fox purchase were all the heroes that the studio owned the film and TV rights to. When Marvel Studios first used the " universe is expanding"  tagline, it was paired with the franchise's official announcement on in-universe streaming content on Disney+. That mantra was first applicable to shows like  WandaVision  and  The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , although it has since morphed into many different meanings in the time since. While Disney+'s  WandaVision  is a one-season limited series, it is far from the last time fans will see Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff. The Scarlet Witch will star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange in May's  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , an Avengers-level crossover event that promises to rewire the very fabric that makes up the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plot specifics remain scarce, but a pair of trailers have sent storyline speculation for  Doctor Strange 2  into a frenzy. Both trailers heavily feature Olsen's Wanda, with the most recent batch of footage emphasizing her dark side. Marvel Studios is looking towards a couple of huge years in 2022 and 2023 both in theaters and on Disney+, largely with blockbuster team-up efforts in projects featuring multiple powerful MCU players.
