The Mad Titan Thanos committed many an atrocity in the MCU, but perhaps none greater than decimating half of all life in the universe, including many of the Avengers and most of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Of course, five years later the heroes of Earth and beyond eventually assembled to return all the beings that had vanished. However, one of the stars of the upcoming  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  missed out on a much-deserved promotion in the interim.  As revealed in  Spider-Man: No Way Home , during the five-year Blip, while Doctor Strange was among the vanished, a new Sorceror Supreme was chosen. The Sorceror Supreme presides over Kamar-Taj, trains new magic users, and is often responsible for keeping the fabric of the universe intact.
