8 Marvel Characters Who Look Better In the MCU Than In the Comics

Image
Bringing a character with decades of comic history from page to screen is no easy task, but fortunately, Marvel Studios has proven rather consistently successful over the years. Heroes like Captain America and Iron Man have been faithfully adapted in terms of their suits, personas, and occasionally stories. Meanwhile, characters such as the Guardians of the Galaxy have been overhauled on such a great scale that those changes have spilled onto the page. Among the toughest tasks in porting a Marvel legend to the screen comes in the costume. After all, many of these characters have existed for a long time and sported countless looks, some looked upon more favorably than others. But some heroes with the most ridiculous of suits have required drastic changes to avoid looking out of place. ADVERTISEMENT The MCU has undeniably had its ups and downs in this area, with Drax and Wanda Maximoff (until  WandaVision  at least) having been considered among the worst. ...

New Doctor Strange 2 Merch Spoils Another Character's Variant

Image
Fans are now just over a month out from finally seeing  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness . The Benedict Cumberbatch-led project is set to take a deep dive into the Multiverse, hopefully fleshing out the concepts first introduced in  Loki  and then revisited in  Spider-Man: No Way Home . Along for the ride is Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, who may or may not be the cause of the madness. The marketing for the film has showcased how fans should be ready to meet more than one Variant of characters they've come to know over the years. Just like Loki had to deal with his parallel selves, the Strange Squad will be introduced to the same surreal experience. ADVERTISEMENT For instance, the very first trailer of the film showcases a darker version of Stephen Strange. Additional footage sees Supreme and Defender Strange make appearances. Wanda can be seen interacting with a likely Variant of herself in the latest trailer. Now, thanks to some n...

6 Marvel Characters Who Need the R-Rated Treatment on Disney+

Image
Disney recently acquired the streaming rights to all the Marvel shows that were produced by Netflix, including Daredevil , The  Punisher , and The Defenders . All these projects were much more mature than the typical MCU flick, so Disney+ introduced new TV-MA restrictions that can allow Marvel to continue to stream mature content on the streaming service without having to worry about their younger fan base stumbling across any of it.  This presents a great advantage for Marvel Studios as it begins to push the PG-13 boundary in projects like Eternals and Moon Knight . It may even allow Marvel to produce projects they otherwise wouldn’t consider, like another season of Daredevil that matches the dark tone of the previous seasons or a raunchy Deadpool  spin-off show.  ADVERTISEMENT With that in mind, The Direct has compiled a list of 6 Marvel characters that need the R-rated treatment now that the MCU has this new Disney+ avenue for producing content.  1....

MCU Theory Explains the Future of 11 Agents of SHIELD Characters

Image
In the aftermath of  The Avengers , Marvel launched its first MCU television venture with  Agents of SHIELD  starring Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson leading a new team of spies. Over the course of seven seasons, the ABC series dived into all corners of the comic book world between the Inhumans, Ghost Rider, time and space travel, as well as frequent crossovers to the latest MCU releases. When Marvel Studios took the lead on the MCU's TV projects as the focus shifted to Disney+,  Agents of SHIELD  was unfortunately forced to end after seven action-packed seasons. Up until recently, the series was streaming on Netflix domestically, but the MCU spin-off has finally made the move to Disney+ alongside "The Defenders Saga." ADVERTISEMENT Having built its own strong fan-base over its seven-year run, many are eager to see the heroes and villains of  Agents of SHIELD  return to the MCU. With Marvel Studios developing such a wide variety of projects ...

From what has been shown so far, the narrative centers around the Multiverse being in shambles, but the catalyst and consequences of the storyline remain unknown. Beyond the Avengers-level threats coming in  Doctor Strange 2 , the film is also set to debut a number of rookies to the vast MCU. Following his efforts in Spider-Man: No Way Home , Strange looks to be pushing his sorcery skills past any limits previously thought to be in place. Early plot descriptions have hinted that the sorcerer will explore just how far he can go with that power, leading to the Multiverse being opened for the first time and bringing in characters from all across Marvel's big-screen history. Infinity War Funko Combines 6 MCU Characters Into One Set

Being both a collector and Marvel fan are two things that go together perfectly, like peanut butter and jelly. The superhero IP is a consistent source of new items to collect, and with Marvel Studios showing no signs of slowing down, that doesn't seem likely to change anytime soon. People have quite the selection, whether it's statues, Hot Toys, or collectible Funkos. One example of this is Sideshow's newly announced Black Panther statue, which was released to celebrate the fourth anniversary of  Black Panther 's release back in 2018. ADVERTISEMENT Another are the recently announced Hot Toys that depict both Alfred Molina's Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin from  Spider-Man: No Way Home . While expensive, both show a unmatched level of detail and may never grow old on one's shelf. The most extensive sub-section of collecting is arguably held by Funko. Their little figures with tiny bodies and big heads have been a stapl...
