Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  just released its second trailer, and it has the internet in a frenzy. The new footage showcased many new elements of the movie while also introducing dozens of questions. Patrick Stewart can be heard off-screen, there's a new Captain Marvel in town, Ultron might be back, and Scarlet Witch could very well be the villain. The upcoming sequel will be directed by MCU newcomer Sam Raimi. While the original film's director Scott Derrickson was once set to direct, creative differences between both parties led to new blood being brought in to helm the adventure. Marvel Studios is set to open up its 2022 theatrical run in May with the highly-anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , which follows directly from the insanity delivered in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home . Benedict Cumberbatch will lead an all-star team including Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Benedict Wong as Wong, all while fighting intense threats from multiple universes. At the helm of this movie is director Sam Raimi, which marks a return to the Marvel universe after changing the superhero genre with the 2000s Spider-Man trilogy.
