After Groot sacrificed himself at the end of the first film of the franchise, the Guardian of the Galaxy has gone through multiple transformations over the years. Initially, Groot was a full-sized adult in the 2014 MCU film, but his sacrifice meant that he was essentially reborn at the end of the movie, thus leading to the debut of Baby Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 .  Baby Groot had many memorable moments in Vol. 2 , but it was the only movie that this iteration was ever featured in. After their pivotal roles in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame , Phase 4 of the MCU has been largely Guardians-less with the exception of their animated roles in Disney+'s  What If...?  Thankfully, that's all about to change. Marvel will return to a story across both Earth and space with this summer's Thor: Love and Thunder , the fourth solo outing for Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder. While the leading heroes are sure to venture out to uncharted territories across the galaxy, especially with the Guardians of said galaxy in tow, part of the story will come down to Earth with New Asgard. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has an expansive library of content that is anchored by its interconnected storytelling. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  is rumored to have a plethora of cameos from past and current Marvel stars, mainly due to the film's use of the concept of alternate realities. In the upcoming Disney+ series, the character will be portrayed as a huge Avengers fan, with a specific passion for Brie Larson's Captain Marvel.
