Ant-Man 3 Set Video Teases Musical Montage
2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania currently stands as Marvel Studios' last officially scheduled movie in Phase 4, set to release in theaters next July. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are set to reprise their titular role in the biggest adventure yet for the MCU's tiniest heroes. This comes thanks to their latest exploration of the Quantum Realm and an impending meeting with Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror.
Thanks to Paul Rudd's status as one of the funniest actors in the MCU, both Ant-Man films have featured plenty of comedic aspects and fun plot points to showcase Rudd's skills. While he certainly got to show his emotional side in Avengers: Endgame with his daughter Cassie, Scott Lang helps bring the ever-expansive MCU down to Earth with his adventures more often than not.

Part of that fun in his last solo movie, 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, came with a fun musical montage as his house arrest sentence came to an end at the start of the film. Now, a new video from the set of Ant-Man 3 shows that this trend is set to continue in some form as Rudd takes on his first Phase 4 project.
Paul Rudd Films Musical Ant-Man Montage
Instagram user @paparazzipodcast, via Twitter user @AntManNews, shared a seven-second video of Paul Rudd filming a scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
In the scene, Rudd is walking down a San Francisco sidewalk next to what appears to be a coffee shop. Additionally, John Sebastian's 1976 hit "Welcome Back" is playing over outdoor speakers as Rudd moves to the music, indicating some kind of musical montage may be being filmed.

Rudd Feeling the Music in MCU Return
While the original Ant-Man didn't feature any "needle-drop" moments, Ant-Man and the Wasp had a memorable sequence with classic pop music.

During Scott's aforementioned house arrest, The Partridge Family's "Come On Get Happy" played in the background as the hero went through his daily routine. Part of the scene even showed Rudd singing the song himself via karaoke, before crying as he read a book, taking a bath to close out the song.
Now, it appears that Ant-Man 3 is taking that trend and running with it as Rudd completes his solo trilogy.
Should this scene be part of another musical montage, it likely won't see that much screen time, as each clip from Ant-Man 2 during its montage only lasted up to three or four seconds. Fans will have to wait to see what else Scott is up to during his second solo movie musical moment when the final cut arrives in just under a year and a half.

As for the song choice, "Welcome Back" could be a way to pay tribute to Scott's efforts in helping save half of humanity in Avengers: Endgame, particularly as he reunites with his own family. It will be some time until that's confirmed either from the movie's crew or in the plot itself, but this scene will once again allow Rudd to show the fun side of his MCU hero.
