Marvel Edits Scarlet Witch's Costume In New Doctor Strange 2 Footage
The MCU is set to take its next deep dive into the Multiverse with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring the master of magic himself alongside Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch. Following her Westview antics in Disney+'s WandaVision, it appears that Wanda Maximoff will be on the hunt for her conjured-up children, Billy and Tommy. This apparently involves the Scarlet Witch falling deeper into the grasp of the Darkhold.
The first trailer for Multiverse of Madness showed Olsen's witch still seemingly deep within her self-taught teachings, complete with the climatic costume she donned in WandaVision's season finale. This includes her signature red crown and Vision-inspired molding on the top of her chest.

While not much about Olsen's costume has seemed to change throughout Multiverse of Madness' promotional materials, a recent video showed a minor addition to the already well-recognized outfit.
Scarlet Witch's Cape Envy from Doctor Strange
IGN released a brand-new behind-the-scenes featurette for Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The video features quotes from director Sam Raimi, co-stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Shots of the work done to make the sequel come to life can also be seen.
However, at the 56-second mark of the video, one of the first-released shots of Olsen's Scarlet Witch is played with a minor altercation.

Originally, the Avenger was seen floating above a circle of candles in a costume extremely reminiscent of her original from Disney+'s WandaVision:
In the new featurette, this costume seems to have been tweaked to include a cape, starting at hip level, now dangling beneath the Scarlet Witch:
The before-and-after comparison of the costume can be seen below:

Post-Production MCU Changes Continue
Marvel Studios is known for doing its due diligence in post-production work on its projects. From changing various VFX effects to even other costume altercations, such changes rarely prove vital to altering the course of a given show or film.

In this case, the addition of a cape to Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch costume is likely a result of continuity purposes between Multiverse of Madness and WandaVision.
In the formerly-mentioned Disney+ show, Olsen's costume donned a similar cape, if not the same one, at the waist level:
Nonetheless, other changes can be noticed in the Multiverse of Madness version. Overall, it looks as though Wanda's Darkhold corruption seems to be seeping into her looks, giving her a more decayed and sinister vibe.

This may be a reflection of the supposed antagonistic presence the Scarlet Witch is expected to have in the Doctor Strange sequel, with promotion showing her on what looks to be a killing spree in a likely attempt to get her twins back at any cost.
Either way, fans will have to wait just a bit longer to see both the final result of Olsen's latest MCU appearance and the results of her character's actions.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres in theaters on May 6.
